Yukasar is recognized as an important uthra (angel or guardian) in Mandaeism, specifically identified as "the source of radiance" and the "soul of Ptahil." The association with Ptahil is significant. Ptahil is considered the Fourth Life in Mandaean cosmology and is often seen as the demiurge, the creator of the material world. However, this creation is generally viewed as flawed or less perfect than the higher realms of light.
